The University of Calgary approached Built by Field with a request to design and build a website that would help communicate UCeed to prospective investors and fund contributors. The initiative provides venture capital to startups through a group of early-stage investment funds, backed by philanthropic support, accelerating UCalgary and community-based startup companies to advance problem-solving research, create jobs and fuel the economy.
Supporting a culture of innovation, UCeed represents a significant stride by the University of Calgary towards nurturing and propelling forward the next generation of entrepreneurs and inventors. As a series of investment funds, UCeed bridges the gap between groundbreaking ideas and their realization by providing vital resources: capital, equipment, and expert advisement. These funds, bolstered by the generous backing of philanthropic organizations and individuals, are a testament to the community's belief in innovation as a cornerstone for future prosperity.
Our collaboration with the University of Calgary aimed to amplify the reach and impact of UCeed, making its benefits known to potential donors and the wider Calgary business community. To achieve this, we meticulously crafted a digital storytelling experience that mirrors the enlightening journey individuals undergo when introduced to UCeed through personal advocacy. This involved breaking down the UCeed proposition into digestible sections and chapters, each tailored to convey part of the UCeed story compellingly and coherently online.
The website, powered by Prismic as a headless CMS, stands as a pinnacle of this effort. Prismic was chosen for its exceptional flexibility and control, allowing the University of Calgary to dynamically manage and update content in response to the evolving landscape of innovation and entrepreneurship. This flexibility ensures that the UCeed narrative remains fresh, relevant, and engaging for all stakeholders.
Through this project, we sought to highlight UCeed's critical role in the innovation ecosystem, illustrating how it acts as a catalyst for transforming visionary ideas into tangible, impactful realities. The website is a reflection of this mission, designed to inform, inspire, and invite collaboration and support from all corners of the community.
